Celebrating National Pie Day: Scrumptious Apple Pie

Today is National Pie Day! In honor of this fine holiday here is a recipe courtesy of The Pioneer Woman.  Anything  that has the name “scrumptious” in it has won my heart immediately!  Enjoy your day today and make sure you eat some pie 🙂

Cinnamon Bread Pudding w/ Caramel Coffee Sauce

Its a balmy and cold day here in the Washington, DC area and I can’t help but think that I want to just surround myself with warm things.  What to make for a dessert on a day like today when the temperature has not made it to 25 and the windchill is in the single digits? How about a bread pudding that is piping hot right out of the oven! Oh and its topped with Caramel Coffee Sauce and a dab of cream.  Here is a decadent recipe for Cinnamon Bread Pudding w/ Caramel Coffee Sauce courtesy of our friends at Crisco.

I hope wherever you are you are warm and cozy.  If you are in a warm and sunny place like Hawaii or Florida…well, I envy you haha!

Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries

I came across this recipe today and was like…wow! Cheesecake stuffed strawberries???!!! This little dessert with only 5 basic ingredients is so easy to make and sounds so yummy and delicious (and you are getting your daily fruit intake too! I tell myself these things to make me feel better when snacking haha!).  You can look at the recipe right here courtesy of The Sweet Life (make sure you check out their site for more yummy recipes too).

Friday’s Dessert w/ Alcohol: Pina Colada Cupcakes

Welcome to Friday y’all! In this cold, beastly weather all I can think about is not sitting by a fireplace but instead being somewhere warm, sitting by the pool with the sun on my face. Oh, and drinking something with an umbrella stick in it! Oh how I long for summer already…here is a perfect drink (well…dessert) to at least put us close to thinking of summer, yes? These Pina Colada Cupcakes courtesy of The Cupcake Project look incredibly delicious and already make my heart happy thinking about tasting one.  Cheers to a fabulous weekend for you!

Quaker Oats Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Did you know that January is National Oatmeal Month? Not only is oatmeal incredibly delicious but it’s also very healthy!  To be honest, on occasion I have not eaten it very healthily and when I am in need of comfort food, I enjoy putting loads of butter and clumps of brown sugar in my oatmeal.  Most of the time I indulge in the healthy versions 🙂

After a long day at work and in need of comfort food, there is nothing better than fresh out of the oven oatmeal raisin cookies. The moist oatmeal, raisins and a hint of cinnamon make this all time favorite deeeeelicious! My favorite recipe is the traditional Quaker Oats Vanishing Oatmeal Raisin Cookies recipe – the “vanishing” in the name fits perfectly because ya can’t help but to eat more than one.
